With the rise of Internet and digital technologies, the new millennium marked the intangible nature of the digital world and the intersections between art and design. The relationship between jewellery and fashion is less fluid than in the past, both because the crises, especially that caused by the coronavirus pandemic, have overwhelmed small jewellery makers, but also because big fashion brands have included both fine jewellery and fashion jewellery in their global accessory collections, designing and producing them almost entirely in-house.
